The charity is seeking volunteers who share our values of Independence, Empowerment and Partnership and want to bring their knowledge and commitment to our nationally recognised Community Garden and Nursery in Richmond.

The Role
- General maintenance across our glass houses, politunnels, and specialist garden areas
- Contributing to the charity's work propagating rare and standard seedlings for cultivation and sale.
- Supporting other staff to provide one to one support to people attending the site as part of our programme of work
- Conducting wildlife survey as part of our commitment to the sites ecological diversity.
- Potentiallly offering additional skills to support other areas of sites service offer.
Your Commitment
All our volunteers will need to provide two references and a DBS check.
Support is needed during our operting hours of 9.30am - 3.30 pm - Monday to Friday. We ask for a minimum commitment of 3 hours at least one day a week.
Our Commitment
- Interview and taster session to see if the role is right for you.
- Appropriate online training including Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and First Aid.
- Appropriate protective clothing.
- Quarterly training and one to one support as part of our development commitment.
Experience and Skills Required
- No experience in gardening or working with adults with learning disabilites required, although experience with either is very welcome.
- A willingness to get your hands dirty and work outside in most weathers.
- Patience and good communication skills to work with clients with a range of communication needs.
